Frequently asked questions
Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally occurring compound found in the resinous flower of cannabis, a plant with a rich history as a medicine going back thousands of years. Today the
therapeutic properties of CBD are being tested and confirmed by scientists and doctors around the world. A safe, non-addictive substance, CBD is one of more than a hundred
“phytocannabinoids,” which are unique to cannabis and endow the plant with its robust
Why is Cannabinoidoil important?
Because our own bodies produce cannabidiol and it is a key part of the Endocannabinoid
system in our bodies. The endocannabinoid system (ECS), comprised of cannabinoid receptors, endocannabinoid molecules, and their metabolic enzymes, is a crucial molecular system that the body uses to help maintain homeostasis. The endocannabinoid system plays a crucial role in regulating a broad range of physiological processes that affect our everyday experience – our mood, our energy level, our intestinal fortitude, immune activity, blood pressure, bone density, glucose metabolism, how we experience
pain, stress, hunger, and more.
CBD is commonly used to address anxiety, and for patients who suffer through the misery of
insomnia, studies suggest that CBD may help with both falling asleep and staying asleep.
CBD is suggested to help many health issues, but the strongest scientific evidence is for its
effectiveness in treating some of the cruelest childhood epilepsy syndromes, such as Dravet
syndrome and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome (LGS), which typically don’t respond to antiseizure
medications. In numerous studies, CBD was able to reduce the number of seizures, and in some cases it was able to stop them altogether. Videos of the effects of CBD on these children and their seizures are readily available on the Internet for viewing, and they are quite striking. Recently the FDA approved the first ever cannabis-derived medicine for these conditions, Epidiolex, which contains CBD.
Why Hemp Springs Farm?
We are a small family farm dedicated to growing, processing and bringing to market the finest organically grown hemp products. We will only use products approved in organic farming practices. We will never use pesticides or herbicides in our farming practices. In fact, we refuse to till the soil, but instead keep a cover crop of native grasses to bind the soil and
preserve the living nature of a healthy soil to grow a hearty superior plant.
Why not "Big Pharma" or Corporate Farming?
The pharmaceutical industry has been primarily focused on the treatment of symptoms,
sometimes at the detriment of our overall health. Keeping us sick and then treating those
symptoms while degrading our overall health and then profiting from it has been their
standard operating procedure for too long. Large corporate farming operations, sometimes
funded by the very companies that have paid out billions of dollars over the years because of their harmful chemicals, are only concerned with the bottom line profits at the expense of our health. They spray their hemp fields with the same chemicals that have sickened generations. Their fields are weed free and artificially fertilized and treated chemically for pests, boasting a beautiful serene harvest that may have harmful properties hidden within.
This will never be the case with Hemp Springs Farm. We keep it small to control our quality and bring you the best premium Hemp products.
What is an Appropriate Dosage?
At Hemp Springs Farm we offer 3 different milligram bottles, 2000, 1000 and 500 milligrams.
Appropriate dosage may vary depending on expected results. Physical health, weight and age may all be factors in determining what is right for an individual. Although the 2000 and 1000 milligram bottles are typically best taken 1 dropper in the morning and another in the evening, we also offer the 500 milligram for people just maintaining their good physical health.
